Michael Occhipinti drove the CG-Lock neon to the 2006 SCCA Northeast Divisional Championships at SeAD in Upstate NY. It was Michael’s first Divisional Championship and continued a strong 2006 for Team Neon; the team has now taken the top spot at all but one event this season (8 wins, 3 seconds).

Divisionals was another Sunday shootout after a wet Saturday left the top competitors knotted up at the top of the standings. Michael repeated his Deven’s performance by jumping up from second place on Saturday to take the win by 0.5 seconds over the two days.

With two of the four Seneca Grand Prix events in the books, Derek Wyman is close to locking up the title in STS.

Next stop is the SCCA NE Divisional Champioships, followed two weeks later by Team Neon’s first trip to run Canadian Nationals. With the current temperature somewhere in triple digits, a quick trip to the Great White North is very appealing!

108 drivers from all over New York state met for the first of four events comprising the 2006 Seneca Grand Prix. Derek Wyman took a commanding class lead in the series, winning STS by 4.5 seconds.
