Michael’s Musings
Sep 22nd, 2006 by derek wyman
Alright. This section has been around for awhile with no commentary from me. I figure it is not fair for me to yell at Nick, when I am not contributing myself.
Let me start out by saying that the “This is a test” post is not from me. That is too concise to be from me. Plus, I think it should be entitled something akin to “Michael’s Musings.” I am a big fan of alliteration (we go way back), and I think there is no better way to express oneself.
Anyways…
I see that Derek has a section for his poetry. I think I will play off that concept and create a quotes section. Today is not the day to start that though.
You would think that I would talk about Nationals, with departure being a mere 10 hours or so away. Instead, I want to touch on something that has been bothering me all day…the outfit I chose to wear to work.
During the winter I enjoy breaking out one of my multitude of sweaters, pairing them with some khaki’s, and scooting out the door. Feeling lazy this morning, with a bit of briskness in the air, I donned said outfit a little early this season.
I love the sweater, don’t get me wrong. However, I feel this incessant urge to pull the sleeves back, which I do approximately once every 41 seconds. It is also a tad too long, making my torso look abnormally long. So, I usually fold the bottom, which unfolds itself, which leads to me refolding it after I pull back my sleeves.
But, those problems are mere trivialities relative to the bigger dilemma…my pants. For some reason (potentially dryer related), these pants are a tad too short. Maybe a 1/2″ or so. But, due to their flat-frontedness, they snug a little bit in the groinal area, which causes the pant leg to hike up even higher when I walk.
I am used to this, so no big deal. But, today I paired them with an aging pair of dress socks, ones whose elasticity has long since lost the good fight. Thus, they slide down. So, when I walk, I feel a breeze on my ankles! Now, this is very disconcerting. I tried to watch myself this morning, and I am confident that my ankles aren’t showing (oh my heavens, what a faux pas that would be!). But, my pant leg must be loose enough, and my exposed skin close enough, that the breeze is able to follow the path of least resistance up my leg! Oh! It has been bothering me all day. Bah. I wonder how many other times I will wear the same outfit this year.
Respectfully yours,
-Michael
Howdy,
Boy, just when you start to think someone is a shallow racer who only cares about the next win….
…. you discover they’re a shallow racer who only cares about the next win _and_ they’re goofy about clothes.
