Time Management
I’m not even in Kansas yet, and already I’m feeling rushed and behind schedule. Nationals just seems to do that to me. Justin, his Dad and Eric Coffman pulled in around 11:30 last night. They definitely got the worst of the weather from the sound of it.
We stayed up talking till almost 2 o’clock, so I’m especially fresh and rested today.

St. Louis
I got to Nick’s at about 7:30 local time. I was pretty lucky with the weather - it was quite overcast, but I mostly got drizzled on. There were a few heavy rain showers but I drove out of them fairly quickly.
Nick and Anna have rolled out the red carpet for me - beers, steak kebabs, Mexican egg rolls and even dessert. I feel pretty spoiled, and a wee bit drunk.
Sartre (the writer, not the Ferrari driver in Grand Prix) said that “Hell is other people” which leads me to believe that he spent some time driving on Interstate 70 in Ohio.

Michael’s Musings
Alright. This section has been around for awhile with no commentary from me. I figure it is not fair for me to yell at Nick, when I am not contributing myself.
Let me start out by saying that the “This is a test” post is not from me. That is too concise to be from me. Plus, I think it should be entitled something akin to “Michael’s Musings.” I am a big fan of alliteration (we go way back), and I think there is no better way to express oneself.
Anyways…

Leaving Today
Many apologies to all my fans for not updating the blog this week. I’ve been running around like a course worker during the CP heat. Anyway, who wants to read about what errands I have to do before laaving?
I’m hitting the road this morning, hopefully at 10am. The plan is to get to St. Louis this evening. One of our Steel Citiies guys, Nick Jackson, has recently moved to the St. Louis area, and generously offered me a place to crash.

Next stop Topeka!
The CG-Lock Neon took home two more trophies (and some lovely spirits) at the Annual WNY Champagne Run on Sunday, officially making 2006 the most successful season for Team Neon. 16 wins in 17 tries, so far, but the biggest event of the year is still to come. Michael Occhipinti, who is seven for seven in 2006, heads out to Topeka, Kansas for the SCCA National Championships next week, accompanied by fellow STS hot-shoe Jeff Hurst. You can follow all the action HERE, with frequent updates from Michael and Mr. Flynn.

The Road to Topeka
Welcome to my blog about the 2006 SCCA Solo2 Nationals Champioships in Topeka, KS. My name is Nick Flynn and I’ll be driving a Miata in ES this year. I’ll try to keep this updated throughout Nationals so those not going to Topeka can see what a fun time they are missing.
Thanks to DW for hosting me this year. Boogity-boogity-boogity, let’s go racin’!
